BNP’s National Standing Committee will meet on Saturday (September 12), with party chairman Tarique Rahman scheduled to chair the meeting.
The meeting will be held at the BNP chairman’s office in Gulshan, BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan said confirming the matter today.
The party’s highest policymaking body is expected to discuss the country’s political situation, organisational activities, preparations for upcoming programmes and other current issues.
The meeting comes as the BNP focuses on strengthening its organisational structure and grassroots activities.
Meanwhile, the 18th BRICS Summit is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on Saturday and Sunday (September 12 and 13), with India hosting the event.
Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir said today that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will not attend the summit.
