The Communist Party of Bangladesh will begin its 13th party congress tomorrow at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in Dhaka city, a press conference was told on Wednesday.
Convener of the congress preparatory committee Mihir Ghosh at the press conference held at the party central office in Purana Paltan announced programme details of the 4-day event.
The congress will be organised with the vow to establish a society free from oppression and repression.
The opening session of the congress will be held at the IEB auditorium at 3:00pm on Friday, followed by the council session to be held at the Bangladesh Medical Association auditorium on Topkhana Road, he said.
The party will form its central committee on the fourth day of the congress on Monday.
Total 525 party representatives and 16 observers from across the country will take part in the council session, the press conference was told.
At the congress, the party leadership will hand more than 150 party leaders with the party veteran award.
Party president Mohammad Shah Alam, general secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince, and media subcommittee convener Luky Akter, among others, spoke at the press conference.
