After nearly three years away from regular shooting, popular actress Apu Biswas returned to work toward the end of last year. Continuing her comeback, she has now signed a new web film titled “Shikar”, directed by Kamruzzaman Roman, marking her latest venture into web-based content.
Apu previously appeared in the web film “Chayabazi”, directed by Syed Shakil, which was released in 2023. With “Shikar”, she is once again exploring the digital platform, this time in a thriller set against a border-area backdrop.
Director Kamruzzaman Roman told Ajker Patrika that “Shikar” will be a thriller, with the story serving as its main strength. Apu Biswas will be seen in a glamorous role. “The story is the key attraction of this film. The cast and crew have already begun their preparations, and we hope to present the audience with a compelling piece of work,” he said.
In “Shikar”, Apu Biswas will star alongside television actor Polash. According to the filmmaker, Polash was cast after his impressive performances in TV dramas. The story and screenplay have been written by Abdullah Zahir Babu. The cast also includes Rashed Mamun Apu, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, among others.
Most of the film’s shooting is scheduled to take place in Nepal, with the “Shikar” team set to depart in early March. If all goes as planned, the web film will be released on a local OTT platform. The platform name and release date will be announced officially soon.
Alongside “Shikar”, Apu Biswas has recently signed two more films—“Durbar”, directed by Kamrul Hasan Fuad, and “Secret”, directed by Bandhan Biswas. Her look from “Durbar” has already been revealed, showing her with a blood-smeared face, pressing a finger to her lips in a gesture of silence. The film is a thriller centered on a murder mystery.
In “Durbar”, Apu Biswas stars opposite Abdun Noor Shajal, marking their first on-screen collaboration. The film also features Jannatul Noor, Sanju John, and others. Written by Abdullah Zahir Babu, “Durbar” is slated for a theatrical release during Eid-ul-Fitr.
