Thakurgaon district yesterday observed International Anti-Corruption Day with a series of programmes highlighting this year’s theme: ‘Unity of Youth Against Corruption, Building the Purity of Tomorrow.’

The observance began in the morning at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ishrat Farzana inaugurated the day’s events by releasing balloons.

The national flag and the anti-corruption flag were hoisted simultaneously as the national anthem was played.

Following the inauguration, the District Administration and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) jointly organized a human chain. A vibrant rally then moved through the main streets of the town before concluding at the DC Conference Hall, where a discussion meeting was held.

DC Ishrat Farzana, attending the programme as the chief guest, emphasized the critical role of the youth in shaping a corruption-free nation. The meeting was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Nazmul Hoque Sumon.
