To generations of Bangladeshis, she will forever remain the country's beloved mishti meye—the sweet girl of the silver screen. The beloved actress Kabori Sarwar captivated audiences with her effortless charm, expressive performances and remarkable screen presence.

Kabori made her film debut in Subhash Dutta's “Sutorang” in 1964, launching a career that would establish her as one of the most influential actresses in Bangladeshi cinema. She went on to star in landmark films including “Hiramon”, “Moynamoti”, “Chorabali”, “Paruler Sangsar”, “Binimoy”, “Bahana”, “Nijere Hariye Khunji”, “Titash Ekti Nadir Naam”, “Rongbaaz”, “Sareng Bou” and “Sujan Sokhi”, among many others.

Her contributions extended beyond acting. Kabori also ventured into filmmaking, making her directorial debut with “Ayna”. She later directed “Ei Tumi Shei Tumi”, for which she also wrote the story, screenplay and dialogue. Although the film remains unreleased, it stands as a testament to her creative ambitions beyond the screen.

Today marks what would have been Kabori's 75th birth anniversary. She was born on July 19, 1950, in Boalkhali, Chattogram.
