Honor, the smartphone brand, is set to begin local manufacturing in Bangladesh after signing an agreement with Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd.

According to Honor, the manufacturing will begin by late 2025, positioning Bangladesh as a new base in its regional expansion plans. The new facility will be built at Smart Hi-Tech Park in Kaliakair, where Honor plans to assemble devices for the local market.

The move will allow future smartphones to carry a "Made in Bangladesh" label, lowering barriers to access while shortening distribution chains, as per the press release.

Smart Technologies said the partnership is expected to create new jobs and gradually strengthen domestic capabilities in electronics assembly.

Honor entered the Bangladesh market in 2023. The company's global strategy, known as the Honor Alpha Plan, emphasises AI integration, design improvements, and user-focused innovation.
