Political narratives are currently dominating public discourse. Against such a backdrop, the election-themed drama “Dhaka 26” has been created, written and directed by Ishteaque Ahmed.
The story revolves around two aides of a powerful political leader, locked in constant rivalry over influence and recognition. Each is eager to prove his worth and establish himself as the leader’s most trusted associate.
Amid this political tension, a personal conflict emerges over a woman who is loved by one of the two men—feelings that the other refuses to accept. As politics and romance intersect, their rivalry intensifies, pushing the conflict towards an extreme.
Despite repeated attempts by their influential leader to resolve the dispute, his efforts prove futile, leading to a decisive incident that alters the course of the narrative.
Produced by Esha Rahman, the tightly paced drama is set to air soon on ATV USA.
The cast features Akash Rahman, Allen Shubhro, Tasnuva Tisha, Sardar Rawnaq Ripon, along with nearly fifty other performers.
Speaking about the project, Allen Shubhra said, “Political stories have always drawn me in, and this one is particularly compelling. I believe it will resonate strongly with viewers.”
Tasnuva Tisha described the story as “highly contemporary and relevant”, adding that she thoroughly enjoyed working on the drama.
“Dhaka 26” was filmed in various locations across Dhaka in late January.
