Over 40 students attended 40‑minute session on legal steps and reporting mechanisms for online abuse
Shaathi Foundation organised an awareness session at JAAGO School in Rayer Bazar today as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender‑Based Violence campaign.
In collaboration with Gold Kinen, the theme of the event was -- "Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls".
More than 40 students attended the interactive 40‑minute session led by Advocate and development practitioner Santa Islam, who outlined legal remedies and practical steps girls can take to protect themselves online.
"Online harassment is not something you have to ignore or endure. Every girl has the right to feel safe, both offline and online," she told participants.
Organisers said the event aimed to reach underprivileged students often excluded from digital‑safety initiatives and to strengthen digital literacy, self‑advocacy and access to support services.
