Posts, telecommunications and information technology minister Faqir Mahbub Anam on Thursday highlighted Bangladesh’s future roadmap for establishing an inclusive digital public infrastructure and ensuring active citizen participation in public service delivery.
‘To Bangladesh, DPI is not merely a matter of technology; rather, it is a core instrument of good governance. Our objective is to ensure that a citizen living in the most remote area can access public services with the same ease as a resident of the capital city,’ said the minister in a roundtable at the UN Public Service Forum 2026 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
He emphasised, ‘Under the visionary leadership of prime minister Tarique Rahman, the current government remains steadfastly committed to building a digital-first governance model.’
Faqir Mahbub Anam informed the forum that citizens of Bangladesh could currently access integrated public services seamlessly through the government payment platform ‘EkPay’, the ‘myGov’ application, the National Web Portal, or directly via the ‘333’ national helpline, said a press release.
Furthermore, the government is actively working toward a strategic goal to ensure affordable, high-quality internet and smart devices for all within the next three years.
Regarding citizen feedback mechanisms, the minister noted that the Cabinet Division’s ‘grievance redress system’ and the ‘e-Participation’ platform enabled citizens to directly voice their opinions and lodge complaints.
He also revealed that the government plans to introduce an ‘e-participation ranking’ in the near future to further strengthen the accountability of public institutions.
