Prime minister Tarique Rahman will go to Sylhet on a day-long tour on Saturday.
During the visit he will inaugurate different projects and programmes. He will also offer prayers at the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and address a public meeting.
According to the tour schedule, the prime minister will arrive in Sylhet by air at 10:00am and first go to the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA).
Later, he will attend a foundation laying ceremony of a project undertaken by Sylhet City Corporation to resolve waterlogging in the city.
The programme will be held at Chandni Ghat, adjacent to Sylhet Circuit House. He will address a civic rally to be organized there.
Later, the prime minister will inaugurate the re-excavation programme of the Baisha River located in Kashipur Union under Sylhet Sadar Upazila.
In the afternoon, Tarique Rahman will inaugurate ‘Notun Kuri Sports-2026’ organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at Sylhet District Stadium to hunt sports talents.
He is also scheduled to attend a meeting at the Shilpakala Academy later in the day. The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Dhaka in the evening.
This is his first visit of Tarique Rahman in Sylhet after assuming office as Prime Minister.
He visited Sylhet on January 21 for election campaign.
