US Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs, Ambassador Sergio Gor, has expressed optimism about the future of Bangladesh-US relations following his first official visit to Bangladesh.

"It was great to meet Foreign Minister Khalil Rahman during my first visit to Bangladesh and discuss working together to strengthen the US-Bangladesh relationship. Lots of positive developments," Gor wrote on X after the meeting.

His remarks came after discussions between the two sides on advancing the Bangladesh-US partnership, reflecting a positive outlook for expanding engagement in areas of mutual interest.
