The second edition of the international Muay Thai tournament, Double Horse Knockouts (DHK002), was held in Dhaka on Tuesday, featuring 24 professional fighters from Bangladesh, Thailand and Kyrgyzstan at the Westin, Dhaka.

The event marked another step forward for Bangladesh’s growing presence on the international Muay Thai circuit, showcasing high-level bouts under globally recognised standards while also highlighting emerging local talent from regions such as Rangamati.

One of the highlights of the night was Manjoor Alam’s emphatic knockout victory over a Thai opponent, which drew strong reactions from the crowd.

DHK002 was attended by representatives from Jamuna Group and other leading conglomerates, as well as delegates from the Embassy of Thailand, reflecting increasing corporate and diplomatic interest in the sport.

A major development during the event was the appointment of Yasin Nazel Islam, director of Jamuna Group, as Chairman for Bangladesh of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Muay Thai, a move expected to strengthen the structured growth of the sport in the country.
