Bangladesh Coast Guard today detained a suspected drug dealer and seized 130,000 pieces of Yaba tablets worth approximately Tk 6.50 crore during a raid in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar.

The operation was carried out by a team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf around 1:00am in an area adjacent to Alikhali under Hnila in Teknaf Police Station.

Lt Commander Sabbir Alam Suzan, media officer of the Coast Guard, shared details of the drive this afternoon. Acting on secret information, the team conducted a special operation and searched a suspicious residential house in the area, where they detained the suspect along with the massive haul of yaba.

Suzan said the process of taking subsequent legal action regarding the seized drugs and the detained suspect is currently underway.
