A few websites on the internet appear to have stopped working because of technical problems at Cloudflare, the internet infrastructure firm.

Visitors to many websites like X, Canva, OpenAI, Claude, Discord, and AT&T, among others are experiencing an error message which reads: "Please unblock challenges.cloudflare.com to proceed."

Many users reported issues with the internet outage at Downdetector, the monitoring site, shortly after 05:30 pm Bangladesh Time on November 18.

"Cloudflare is experiencing an internal service degradation. Some services may be intermittently impacted. We are focused on restoring service," the company said in a note on its service status dashboard at 11:48 UTC.

Problems with Cloudflare's services follow an outage that affected Amazon Web Services last month, causing over 1,000 websites and applications to go offline.

Cloudflare is a major global supplier of internet security services, including verifying that visitor connections to websites are originating from people and not bots. The company claims that 20 percent of all websites globally make use of its services.

UPDATE

As of 8:42 pm Bangladesh time, netizens have reported experiencing improvements following almost 3 hours of outage.

"A fix has been implemented and we believe the incident is now resolved. We are continuing to monitor for errors to ensure all services are back to normal," Cloudflare said in a note on its service status dashboard at 14:42 UTC on November 18.
