Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended support for the medical treatment and rehabilitation of Md Hossain Ali, who was injured by police gunfire during the July movement.
A delegation from Amra BNP Poribar visited Hossain Ali at the Churichala area of Safipur in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur on Friday around 12:00 noon. The delegation was led by the organization’s member secretary, agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, and included adviser Abul Kashem.
During the visit, the delegation spoke with Hossain Ali and his family and provided financial assistance for his medical treatment. On behalf of Tarique Rahman, they also handed over support to help him start a tea shop as part of his rehabilitation and efforts to become self-reliant.
Speaking at the event, Moksedul Momin Mithun said that under the directive of Tarique Rahman, Amra BNP Poribar has been carrying out humanitarian assistance programmes across the country. As part of these initiatives, Hossain Ali received both medical assistance and business support to help rebuild his livelihood.
After receiving the assistance, Hossain Ali expressed his gratitude to Tarique Rahman for supporting his treatment and rehabilitation.
Among others present at the programme were Gazipur District BNP member Momtaz Uddin Renu; Amra BNP Poribar members Masud Rana Liton and Mustakim Billah; former General Secretary of BUET Chhatra Dal Engineer Abu Hanif; Vice-President of MTAB Shahidul Amin; Chhatra Dal leader Abdullah Al Misbah; and several local leaders.
Earlier, on January 18, during a discussion meeting with families of martyrs and injured victims of the July movement held at the auditorium of the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh at Khamarbari in the capital, Hossain Ali had met Tarique Rahman and requested assistance for his treatment and rehabilitation.
