The two-day annual cultural programme and prize distribution ceremony 2025-2026 of Bangladesh Air Force Shaheen English Medium College concluded at the Shaheen Hall in Dhaka on Thursday.
Air-chief-marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan was present as chief guest on the concluding day of the programme, said a press release.
Chief patron of BAF Women’s Welfare Association and Others’ Women and Children’s Club and president of BAF Ladies Club and Children’s Club Saleha Khan was present as special guest at the programme.
The chief guest presented special awards to the students of the college in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the Cambridge O-level and A-level May-June 2025 examinations.
He highly appreciated the dedication, efficiency and relentless efforts of the teachers of the mathematics and accounting departments.
Later, the Best Student Award and Student of the Decade Award were presented in the junior and senior categories.
In the junior category, Wajiha Tajim achieved this award, while Ridhima Sarkar was recognised for her outstanding academic achievements and achievements in co-curricular activities in the senior category.
Sahil Wazir Mamun was honoured as the Student of the Decade for his exceptional achievements and contributions.
In addition, Mohammad Emdadul Haque and Sultan Mahmud were awarded the Best Teacher 2025-26 awards in the school and college categories respectively.
Air commander of Air Force Base Bashar and chairman of the board of directors of Shaheen English Medium College Air-Vice-Marshal Syed Saidur Rahman, was present at the event.
In his welcome address, Group Captain Taslim Ahmed, principal of the college, highlighted the remarkable achievements of the institution in its academic and co-curricular activities.
The students of college performed songs, recitations, dances and dramas at the cultural programme and prize distribution ceremony.
