A new Bangla song titled “Uri” is set to be released this Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the first-ever collaboration between lyricist Golam Murshed, guitarist-composer Lutful Ahmed Labu ( Labu Rahman) , and renowned singer Fahmida Nabi. The song will premiere on the YouTube channel Gaan Janala as part of its Eid special programming.
Recorded in November at a studio in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, “Uri” blends romantic lyricism with a modern, band-inspired sound. The song is written by Golam Murshed, composed by Labu Rahman, and performed by Fahmida Nabi. Its lyrics revolve around love, companionship and the idea of escaping together—emotionally and imaginatively.
Speaking about the collaboration, Golam Murshed said his association with Labu Rahman dates back to 1997 and has grown into a close personal bond over the years. Although Rahman is widely admired as a guitarist and musician, he had rarely focused on composing melodies. About a year ago, Rahman expressed his desire to actively compose songs and proposed working exclusively with Morshed’s lyrics. That decision led to the creation of eight to ten new songs in one stretch, including “Uri”.
Murshed also shared his excitement about reuniting with Fahmida Nabi after a long gap. He said the collaboration felt special and added that both Rahman and Nabi were deeply enthusiastic about the project, expressing confidence that listeners would connect with the song.
Labu Rahman said he had several tunes ready and felt the time was right to bring them to audiences through meaningful collaborations. Calling Fahmida Nabi the perfect voice for the song, he noted that “Uri” carries a strong band-style arrangement and hopes it will leave a lasting impression once released.
For Fahmida Nabi, this marks her first song composed by Labu Rahman. Sharing her recording experience, she said she was given rare creative freedom during the session. Unlike many studio recordings where singers strictly follow a fixed tune, Rahman allowed her to interpret the melody in her own way. She described the song as refreshing, expressive and artistically fulfilling.
