The 26th annual cultural programme and certificate-giving ceremony of Green Art School was held at the Kabi Nazrul Institute Auditorium at Dhanmondi on Friday.

The event featured poem recitations, as well as musical and instrumental performances by the students.

Theatre activist Mamunur Rashid attended as the chief guest, while renowned artists Biren Shome and Rashid Amin were present as special guests. The event was chaired by the founder of the school, artist Ferdous Ara.

During his speech, Mamunur Rashid said that children’s education must be joyful, or else they learn only mechanics instead of emotions and values.

The programme began with a group recitation by the students, who performed poems focused on the Liberation War, the Language Movement, and other patriotic themes.

Students from the music department performed solo, duet, and choral songs, including Folk, Tagore, Nazrul, and modern Bengali songs. A group guitar instrumental performance was also held during the event.

After the performances, the guests presented crests to the winners of the annual competition.

As part of the annual cultural event, a three-day group art exhibition featuring the work of the school’s students will be inaugurated today at the Nalinikanta Bhattasali Gallery of the Bangladesh National Museum.
