The incident took place at the BNP campaign office in Dolardarga area of Putimari Union under Dinajpur-6 constituency, which includes Birampur, Nawabganj, Ghoraghat and Hakimpur.

Witnesses said Jamaat supporters broke chairs and tables and tore down banners at the BNP office. Two BNP activists present at the office were also assaulted during the attack.

He said after Maghrib prayers, Jamaat candidate Anwarul Islam’s supporters started a roadside campaign meeting near the BNP office. An argument broke out over the use and volume of microphones during the campaign.
