Leaders of seven political parties, including Bangladesh Jatiya Party, met Bangladesh Nationalist Partychairman Tarique Rahman on Wednesday and discussed the country’s overall situation and electoral issues.
The meetings were held separately at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office in Dhaka, said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
The delegations were led by Bangladesh Jatiya Party chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho, Amjanata Party leader Mia Moshiuzzaman, NAP-Bhashani leader Azharul Islam, Jana Odhikar Party leader Ismail Hossain Samrat, Nezami Islami Party leader AKM Ashraful Haque, Gano Forum leader Subrata Chowdhury and Democratic Left Alliance leader Harun Chowdhury.
Sayrul said the discussions mainly focused on the country’s overall situation, current political developments and electoral matters.
Later in the day, he said, the newly elected executive committee of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity also paid a courtesy call on Tarique Rahman.
The DRU delegation was led by its president Abu Saleh Akon and general secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel.
