The four-day annual conference of deputy commissioners (DCs) will begin in Dhaka from May 3.

Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium at 10:00am.

The Cabinet Division today sent an office memorandum to all secretaries, divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners, asking them to begin necessary preparations for the conference.

Following the inaugural ceremony, ministers, state ministers and secretaries will deliver directives to the DCs and divisional commissioners during a series of working sessions, the notice said.

Cabinet Division sources said the conference provides an opportunity for deputy commissioners to discuss field-level implementation of government policies and priority projects.

The process of finalising preliminary preparations and the draft schedule for the conference is already underway.
