National Citizens Party chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary has pledged to avoid personal attacks and unnecessary debates after discussions with senior colleagues, political well-wishers and trusted associates.
‘Over the past few days, I had the opportunity to have some heartfelt conversations with friends, political well-wishers, ministers and MPs, and beloved colleagues. From everyone, I received valuable guidance: to avoid personal attacks, stay away from unnecessary talks, and focus on constructive discussions,’ he said in a post on his verified Facebook account on Wednesday.
Nasiruddin vowed to adopt this advice with humility and to move forward in a calmer, more responsible manner.
He expressed his commitment to contributing to political, economic, and cultural progress to the best of his ability.
Nasiruddin also offered a sincere apology to anyone who might have been unintentionally hurt by his words or actions, saying that the support, affection, and guidance of his followers provided strength for his journey.
Patwari quietly marked the beginning of this reflective journey on Tuesday through the observance of Qiyam-ul-Lail at the Takwa Mosque at Dhanmondi in the capital Dhaka.
Since announcing his candidacy for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections, the NCP leader has been in the spotlight for various reasons.
After contesting as a candidate for the Dhaka–8, he drew criticism for his aggressive remarks against his rival, Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member Mirza Abbas.
Mirza Abbas won the parliamentary seat in the February 12 national elections. He is an adviser to the prime minister.
