Leading theatre troupe Prangone Mor is set to mark its 24th year with two major stage productions in Dhaka, underscoring more than two decades of sustained contribution to Bangladesh’s theatre movement.
Founded on May 6, 2003, the troupe has built a reputation for consistent theatrical practice and critically acclaimed productions at home and abroad.
As part of the anniversary programme, Prangone Mor will stage “Tiner Talowar” on May 6 at 7 pm at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Written by noted Indian playwright Utpal Dutt, the play is widely regarded as a politically aware play rooted in 19th-century Bengali theatre traditions, with enduring contemporary relevance.
The production is directed by Ananta Hira, who also features in the cast alongside Sabuktageen Shubho, Simanto Amin, Moshier Rahman, Sujoy Gupta, Shishir Chowdhury, Mofazzal, Badhan Sarkar, Sahed Sardar, Gulshan Bohni, Nirjhor, Tama Hossain, Fahim Muntasir, Nazim Ahmed Twaki, Zahirul Islam and Tanni Islam.

Stage design is by Faiz Zahir, lighting by Thandu Raihan, music by Shishir Rahman, costumes by Nuna Afroze, makeup by Johnny Sen and poster design by Charu Pintu.
The celebrations will continue on May 12 with a staging of “Shesher Kobita” at 7 pm at the Studio Theatre Hall of the same venue. Adapted from the classic novel by Rabindranath Tagore, the play has been prepared by Ananta Hira, with direction by Nuna Afroze.
