Apu Biswas is currently in Nepal shooting her new film, “Shikar”, directed by Kamruzzaman Roman.

Speaking to The Daily Star from Nepal, the actress shared her excitement about working amidst the country's stunning landscapes. "We're filming ‘Shikar’ in some of Nepal's most beautiful locations. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking—it instantly lifts your mood. I'm sure these locations will look even more spectacular on screen," she said.

Apu added that her preparation for the role began as soon as she received the script.

"The moment I read the script and learned about my character, I began preparing for the role. I've been looking forward to this project from the very beginning."

Although she remained tight-lipped about the plot and her role, Apu hinted that audiences are in for something special.
"I don't want to reveal too much about the story or my character just yet. I'd rather audiences experience it in the cinema. What I can say is that ‘Shikar’ has a very strong story, and I'm really happy with my character. In short, I believe this is going to be a wonderful film."

The film's inaugural ceremony was also held in Nepal before production officially began.

"Before we started shooting, we held the inaugural ceremony here in Nepal. The entire team was present, and everyone is confident that we're creating something special. You could feel that positive energy and enthusiasm right from the ceremony itself," she said, adding, "I have shot in Nepal before; however, this is the first time I am filming an entire feature here."

“Shikar” also features acclaimed actor Samm Batyacharyya, along with veteran Indian actor Rajatava Dutta, also actors Mahmudul Islam Mithu, and Mortoza Polash. The cast and crew include artistes and technicians from Bangladesh, India, and Nepal.

"Artistes and technicians from all three countries are working together on this film. Our director is paying great attention to every detail. Audiences will get to experience something fresh, and I genuinely believe Shikar will be a very good film," Apu said.

The actress also spoke about the atmosphere on set. "We're all enjoying the experience immensely. Everyone is working with complete dedication. Whenever we get a short break between shots, we can't help but admire the incredible scenery around us. It's truly refreshing."

Despite enjoying the shoot, she misses one person dearly. "I'm in Nepal, but the person I miss the most is my son, Joy. I miss him terribly."
