Sophos has recently launched a new security product aimed at protecting hybrid and remote work environments.
According to a press release, as organisations grapple with growing cybersecurity risks and the rapid adoption of AI tools in the workplace, its new offering, Sophos Workspace Protection, is designed to secure applications, data and users wherever work takes place, while also helping employers oversee the use of unauthorised software and AI tools. The product expands Sophos’s existing portfolio and is positioned as an alternative to more complex secure access service edge, or SASE, systems.
At the centre of the new solution is the Sophos Protected Browser, a Chromium-based enterprise browser powered by the technology company Island and integrated with the Sophos Central management platform. This model reduces operational complexity and costs, while allowing protections to follow users across office-based and remote settings. The browser is designed to give organisations greater visibility into how applications are accessed, how data is handled locally and how web activity is conducted, without disrupting employee productivity, states the press release.
