The Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS), one of the country's oldest and most influential voluntary organisations in the film society movement, announced its new executive committee today.

Rehnuma Shahreen and Sumantta Sarker Arpon have been elected president and general secretary respectively. Rehnuma is a student of the Department of Printing and Publication Studies, while Sumantta belongs to the 2019–20 academic session of the Department of Political Science.

Mohammad Israt Abu Toimur has been elected vice president, with Nuzhat Jahan Nuha as assistant general secretary and Abdullah Al Amin Khan Siam as treasurer.

DUFS is widely recognised for organising "Amar Bhashar Chalachchitra", the largest film festival dedicated to Bangla-language cinema, as well as the International Inter University Short Film Festival, which highlights works by student filmmakers from across the globe.
