The Election Commission (EC) has issued a gazette notification declaring 297 candidates elected to the parliament in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, alongside the official results of the referendum held on the same day.

The gazette was published late last night by EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed. It includes details of the elected lawmakers, such as their names, parents’ names and addresses.

The next step is the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected members of parliament.

According to the notification, 48,266,660 voters cast ballots in favour of the referendum proposal, while 22,071,726 voted against it. A total of 7,422,637 ballots were declared invalid.

Polling took place on February 12 in 299 out of 300 constituencies. The EC has so far published results for 297 seats.

The High Court has stayed the declaration of results in Chattogram-2 and Chattogram-4 constituencies. Meanwhile, voting in Sherpur-3 was postponed following the death of a Jamaat candidate.
