The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has released photographs of one of the suspects in connection with the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.

The police published the images on Saturday and requested information from the public.

The information was confirmed by DMP Media Wing Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman.

Earlier, on Friday night, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali said a massive manhunt is underway to arrest those responsible for opening fire on Osman Hadi. He said the attackers would be tracked down and brought to justice wherever they are hiding.

On Friday afternoon, two assailants arrived on a motorcycle and shot Sharif Osman Hadi in the Bijoy Nagar area of Paltan in the capital before fleeing the scene. He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later transferred to Evercare Hospital.

A joint operation involving the DMP, Detective Branch, and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has already begun to apprehend those involved in the shooting.
