Professor Dr Rafiqus Salehin, a noted physician and surgery specialist, has been appointed vice-chancellor (VC) of Khulna Medical University (KMU).

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday, with the approval of the president, who is also the Chancellor of the university.

According to the notification, Prof Salehin will serve as VC for a period of four years from the date of his joining.

Currently, he is serving as head of the Department of Surgery at United Medical College and Hospital in the capital.
