Ulkasemi’s VLSITHON 3.0, a competition aimed at developing VLSI engineering skills among university students, concluded on September 3.

The team, ‘Deviation’, from the University of Chittagong was named champion and received BDT 100,000. ‘Voltix’ from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) was the first runner-up, receiving BDT 60,000, while ‘Density Demons’ from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) finished second runner-up with a prize of BDT 40,000. 

As per the organisers, the edition brought together 206 students from 106 teams representing more than 30 universities, with the competition focusing on the Place and Route (PnR) stage of VLSI design. Participants underwent seminars and workshops before the top 10 teams were selected through theoretical examinations and assessments using electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
