Seven writers have received the Dhaka Bank-Ananda Alo Literary Award 2025.

The awards have recently been presented to the writers at a ceremony organised on the Channel I premises in Dhaka, said a press release.

This literary award was given for books published at the Ekushey Book Fair in 2025.

The award-winning poets and writers are Abdul Hye Sikder in poetry, Amirul Islam and Mahbuba Chowdhury jointly in children’s literature. Sadat Hossain in fiction, Mahbub Aziz in essays, Didarul Alam in the first book category and Shanarei Devi Shanu received the youth award in literature.

The chief guest at the event was Abdul Hai Sarkar, chairman of Dhaka Bank. Guests were Manabzamin editor-in-chief Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, Anydin editor Mazharul Islam, Ananda Alo editor Rezanur Rahman and Ananda Alo associate editor Raju Alim. The event was presided over by Channel i managing director Faridur Reza Sagar.
