Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, Israel and the United States have reportedly carried out attacks involving Iran and other parts of the region, prompting the suspension of air traffic across sections of Middle Eastern airspace. As a result, Nusraat Faria found herself stranded in Istanbul after her scheduled flight to Dubai was cancelled.

On Saturday (February 28) night, the actress took to her verified Facebook page with an emotional post, describing the day as feeling “like a nightmare”.

She wrote that she had been due to travel from Istanbul to Dubai, but uncertainty quickly took hold following the sudden closure of UAE airspace.

“Waking up, I heard there was war and that UAE airspace had been closed. In a moment, everything came to a standstill. I was supposed to travel from Istanbul to Dubai. Standing at the airport, it felt as though the world around me was changing — so much uncertainty, so much pressure, so much fear,” she shared.

The tense atmosphere at the airport deeply affected her, she noted, as global instability unfolded in real time.

Despite the chaos, Faria said that faith and the support of loved ones helped her remain mentally strong. She expressed heartfelt gratitude towards a friend in Istanbul and their family, who stood by her side, repeatedly checking on her and ensuring her safety.

“Even in this chaos, Allah’s mercy and people’s love have held me together. The way my friend and their family stood beside me in Istanbul, checking on me again and again, making sure I was safe — I will never forget that. Their care and love did not let me break down today,” she wrote.

She also shared a photograph from the airport where she had been waiting, capturing the uncertainty of the moment.

Faria later confirmed that she is now on her way back to Dhaka. Though her heart feels heavy, she said she remains grateful. Her only prayer, she added, is that “the world becomes a little more peaceful.”
