The Election Commission (EC) has transferred 112 officials from its Secretariat and field offices, an EC circular said today.

According to the circular, the officials must be released from their current postings by 1 March. Those who fail to do so will be considered relieved of duty from that date.

The circular, signed by Mohammad Shahidur Rahman, assistant secretary of EC’s Manpower and Management-1 section, said the officials have been reassigned to the workplaces listed in the order until further notice.

It added that the decision was taken “in public interest.”
