The Bangladesh government on Saturday increased fuel oil prices by 15 per cent to 16.6 per cent, despite earlier assurances that no hike would be made in the current month.
The price of diesel has been raised by 15 per cent to Tk 115 per litre from the previous Tk 100.
The price of octane has been increased by 16.6 per cent to Tk 140 per litre from Tk 120, while petrol prices have gone up by 16.3 per cent to Tk 135 per litre from Tk 116.
The price of kerosene has been fixed at Tk 130 per litre, up from Tk 112, marking a 16.03 per cent increase.
