The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has detained major (retd) Md Mozzaffar Hossain.

Confirming the development to The Daily Star, DB Additional Commissioner Shafiqul Islam said, "We are still on the road. We will share details after returning to the office."

Mozzaffar Hossain was involved in the assassination of former president Ziaur Rahman, he said, adding that Mozzaffar was arrested from Banani DOHS area this afternoon.

On May 30, 1981, Ziaur Rahman was brutally killed at the Chattogram Circuit House.
