Despite Atif Aslam publicly confirming his return to Bangladesh and organisers repeatedly assuring fans that the show would proceed as planned, the much-anticipated "X Force presents Atif Aslam at Main Stage" concert has been called off.
Atif Aslam has confirmed the cancellation of his concert on his official Facebook page. The post read: "Dear Bangladeshi fans, we are sad to announce that we will not be performing at the concert in Dhaka, which was scheduled for 13th December 2025. This is due to the promoters and concert management being unable to secure the necessary local permissions, security clearances, and logistics."
On condition of anonymity, an officer from an intelligence wing of Bangladesh Police told The Daily Star, "they had already started selling tickets before they even sent a letter asking for permission. This is highly unethical."
A member of the organising team said, "Our CEO had been assuring us that he had 'links' in the ministry but as we still have not secured permission, it is looking more and more likely that it will be cancelled."
Just days earlier, on December 9, Main Stage had issued a press release confirming that the concert would take place on the scheduled date and announcing additional audience facilities, including shuttle services.
The event was slated to be held at the Chinese Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal New Town. The star-studded lineup was expected to include performances by Nemesis and several other artists alongside the Pakistani singer.
Main Stage was organising the show with support from co-organiser Spirit of July.
