Country’s first micro-drama series, “Silver Sadia”, is set to premiere on May 15 on Cinemawala’s Facebook page.

A vertical screening of the series was held yesterday at a club in Dhaka, attended by the cast, director, producers, and invited guests. The trailer was unveiled at 7 pm. 

The series has been directed by Miraj Hossain. The cast includes Sadia Ayman, Allen Shubhro, Farzana Chobi, and Kamruzzaman Topu, among others. Content creator Rafsan The Choto Bhai also appears in a special role.

The 15-episode series features episodes of three minutes each. Director Miraj Hossain said, “This new attempt at telling stories in a shorter format is a bold and timely step for Bangladesh’s entertainment industry, in tune with the viewing habits of today’s audiences.”

The story of “Silver Sadia” follows a madrasa student from a lower middle-class family who secretly develops a deep passion for gaming. With the quiet support of her mother, she begins livestreaming on YouTube and gradually builds her own audience. However, complications arise when her father discovers the truth. The story intertwines themes of family conflict, strained relationships, and a young woman’s journey towards finding her identity.

Actress Sadia Ayman, who plays the titular role, said, “Without a doubt, this is a wonderful initiative. It is a completely new experience to tell a beautiful story through short episodes. I’m truly delighted to be part of such a series.”

Producer Nazim Farhan Chowdhury said, “The style of storytelling is evolving with the demands of the times. Dramas and films have now moved from screens into the palms of our hands. Through this series produced by Mother’s Blessing Studios, we are stepping into a new world of vertical storytelling, where there is room for courage, emotion, and fresh ideas.”

Co-producer and creator of the series, Pulak Anil, added, “Working with a completely new concept brought many challenges. By overcoming those challenges, we are opening the door to a new possibility.”

Presented by Glow & Lovely, the series has been produced by Mayer Doa Studios as part of ADCOM Limited’s 360-degree full-service content-driven project, while Runout Films serves as the project’s production partner. Cinemawala is the distribution partner for the series, which is currently trending at number nine in YouTube’s Movies category.
