A parliamentary party meeting of the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party will be held on Wednesday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban ahead of the first JS session on March 12.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11:00am at the government party’s meeting room at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with the Leader of the House prime minister Tarique Rahman in the chair.

Chief Whip Nurul Islam has requested all the BNP Members of Parliament to attend the meeting, according to a press release issued by the parliament secretariat. 

Earlier, on February 23, president Mohammed Shahabuddin called the first session of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad to begin on March 12 at 11:00am.

The BNP secured a landslide victory in the 13th JS elections, as voters exercised their long-denied franchise in a festive and peaceful atmosphere on February 12.

On February 17, the BNP, led by party chairman Tarique Rahman, formed the new government.
