Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today congratulated the Bangladesh Cricket Team for winning a Test series against Pakistan on home soil for the first time.

Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony shared the message to BSS.

The prime minister said Bangladesh’s success in international cricket would continue, and this achievement would further inspire the younger generation toward sports.

He expressed hope that the Bangladesh cricket team would continue to progress on the world stage by maintaining team spirit, discipline, and self-confidence.

The prime minister extended heartfelt greetings and thanks to the players, coaching staff and all concerned.

The Bangladesh team today defeated Pakistan by 78 runs in the second Test in Sylhet. Earlier, Bangladesh had won the first Test in Mirpur in Dhaka by 104 runs.

With the 2–0 series victory, the Bangladesh cricket team also whitewashed Pakistan.

Following this win, Bangladesh climbed to 5th place in the World Test Championship points table by overtaking India.
