For the first time, a children’s song has been released that speaks about adults. At first glance, this may sound a little puzzling. One might naturally ask—what kind of song is that? The answer is simple—it is unique. In this song, children offer advice to adults.
The life-oriented song is titled “Obishwasher Deshe” (In the Land of Distrust). Written and composed by architect Enamul Karim Nirjhar, with music arrangement by Autumnal Moon, the song is sung by child artiste Mrinmoyee Megha. This is Megha’s third original song.
The music video of “Obishwasher Deshe” has been released under the “Ek Nirjharer Gaan” project on the YouTube channel “Gaanshala EKNC”. The video, featuring Megha as the model, has been directed by Mujahid Mijab.
Speaking about the making of this politically aware yet non-political song, Enamul Karim Nirjhar said, “The times are such that it has become difficult to understand whose voice will be heard. Children probably understand many of our wrongdoings and irregularities, but they cannot point them out openly. That made me think—if children sang about us adults, perhaps the message would reach more ears. Maybe it would help us regain a little sense. I know it may not change much. But all we can do is keep trying. This song, in Megha’s voice, is the result of that effort.”
Meanwhile, the young singer has been receiving warm appreciation from adults for performing such an unconventional song. Sharing her reaction, Megha said, “This is my second song with lyrics and tune by Nirjhar uncle and music by Moon uncle. I really enjoyed singing this one as well. The video has turned out very beautiful. Please pray for me, so that I can sing many more lovely songs.”
It is worth mentioning that Megha, a fourth-grade student, released her first original song in 2024, "Bhuter Raja Dilo Bor”, written, composed and arranged by Autumnal Moon. Her second song, “Hau Mau Khau”, written and composed by Enamul Karim Nirjhar, was released in 2025.
