Train services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route have been suspended after a fire broke out in the engine of a moving intercity train in Trishal.
The incident occurred around 4:30pm on Monday in the Aulianagar of the Upazila, said Mymensingh Railway Police chief Akter Hossain.
He said the driver of the Netrokona-bound Mohanganj Express, which had departed from Dhaka, noticed smoke billowing out from underneath the engine.
The driver immediately brought the train to a halt.
The fire was later brought under control, Akter added.
Train movement on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route remained suspended following the incident.
