The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Tuesday started its programme spanning over a month to mark the first anniversary of the student-led July mass uprising that overthrew the authoritarian regime of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, 2024.

The party held doa mahfils at all the party units across the country, seeking salvation for those who embraced deaths and praying for the recovery of those who were injured during the movement.


Meanwhile, the Amar Bangladesh Party held a discussion at the National Press Club auditorium in the capital to launch the party’s 36-day-long programme to mark the uprising.

Amar Desh editor Mahmudur Rahman spoke at the discussion which party chair Mojibur Rahman Monju presided over.
