The government today appointed Rear Admiral Md Moinul Hassan of the Bangladesh Navy as director general of the Bangladesh Coast Guard.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, the incumbent DG, Rear Admiral Md Ziaul Hoque, has been transferred to the Armed Forces Division.

The order, issued in the public interest, takes effect immediately.

Rear Admiral Moinul Hassan is currently serving as Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area. He previously held the position of Deputy Director General of the Bangladesh Coast Guard.
