Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman today said he hopes that The Daily Star would do justice to all equally.

He made the remark at The Daily Star office during the newspaper’s 35th anniversary celebration.
“Stars were born an eternity ago. They reside in the sky and deliver justice to everyone, showing equal light and guidance to all. The Daily Star will show the same -- this is our expectation as a nation.”  

Reacting to the attacks on The Daily Star and Prothom Alo on December 18 last year, he said such incidents were regrettable and had happened before in Bangladesh.

“We never support this kind of mob culture. Our position against it is absolutely clear,” he said.
