The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has given special instructions to six hospitals in Dhaka to provide proper treatment to patients referred from Ad-din Medical College Hospital following the cancellation of its licence after the unusual deaths of six newborns.
The instructions were provided in a memorandum on Friday night signed by the DGHS Deputy Director (Hospitals) Dr Abu Hussain Md Moinul Ahsan, reports bdnews24.com.
The memorandum said the licence of Ad-Din Medical College Hospital (at 2, Boro Moghbazar) has been cancelled. Under the circumstances, instructions have been given to provide immediate and proper treatment to patients referred from the hospital to other facilities.
The decision has the approval of the director general of health services, it said.
The hospitals named in the memo are Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Mugda Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, and Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute.
