Renowned screenwriter Salim Khan has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai and is currently under intensive medical care. The 90-year-old writer, widely known as the father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, is being closely monitored by doctors.

According to reports, Khan was admitted earlier in the day and is receiving treatment at Lilavati Hospital. While the exact nature of his medical condition has not been disclosed, sources confirmed that he remains under strict medical supervision in the Intensive Care Unit.

Salim Khan is celebrated for shaping some of the most iconic Hindi films of the 1970s, including Sholay, Deewaar, and Trishul. In collaboration with legendary lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, the duo—popularly known as Salim-Javed—revolutionised mainstream Hindi cinema.

The pair are credited with introducing the influential “angry young man” archetype, later immortalised on screen by megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Their storytelling brought a new intensity to commercial cinema, blending action, drama, and social themes.

After parting ways professionally from Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan continued contributing to Indian cinema, further strengthening his reputation as one of the industry’s master storytellers.

More updates on his condition are awaited.
