Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today reduced the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Tk 55 for 12 kg cylinder.

Hence, now onwards it will be sold at Tk 1,885.

“The newly fixed price of 12 kg LPG cylinder is Tk 1,885, which went into effect from 6:00pm today (June 2). All LPG marketing companies has to implement the new rate,” said BERC in an announcement.

Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar, secretary to the commission, signed the announcement saying that the prices of all the 13 different sizes of LPG-filled cylinders have been reduced for June.

In line with the shipping fare and trader's premium charge for LPG import have been re-determined at US$200 per tonne for the interim period to maintain normal LPG supply in the country, it said.

As per the BERC decision, 12.5 kg LPG has been re-fixed at Tk 1,963 at retailer level, 15 kg at Tk 2,356, 16 kg at Tk 2,513, 18 kg at Tk 2,827, 20 kg at Tk 3,141, 22 kg at Tk 3,455, 25 kg at Tk 3,927, 30 kg at Tk 4,712, 33 kg at Tk 5,183, 35 kg at Tk 5,497 and 45 kg at Tk 7,068.

The BERC has re‑fixed fuel prices, setting auto gas at Tk 86.93 per litre.

At the reticulated stage, where LPG is supplied through pipelines or networks, the price at the retailer level has been set at Tk 153.31 per kilogram, inclusive of VAT, in systems owned by the private sector.

For LPG supplied through a private‑sector gas distribution system, the price is Tk 340.70 per cubic metre.
