BTS have added yet another achievement to their global legacy even before their next album hits shelves. The group’s fifth studio album, “Arirang”, has crossed the four-million mark in preorders within just one week, setting a new benchmark in their career. Alongside the sales milestone, BTS have also expanded their world tour schedule by adding two more concert dates.

According to album distributor YG Plus, “Arirang” recorded around 4.06 million preorders as of January 22, only seven days after preorders opened on January 16. The response has been equally strong on streaming platforms. On Spotify, the album crossed one million pre-saves within two days of the campaign launch and exceeded two million by the fourth day.

Industry watchers note that the figures have already surpassed BTS’ previous best pre-sale performance. As reported by The Chosun Daily, the group’s fourth full-length album, “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7”, had logged 3.42 million preorders within its first week in 2020, later going on to sell over five million copies according to Circle Chart data.

With all seven members reunited after completing their military service, anticipation around BTS’ return has reached a peak. The massive preorder numbers, combined with the decision to add extra tour dates, underline the scale of global demand for their comeback and reaffirm the group’s unmatched influence in the music industry.
