At least three Bangladesh Air Force personnel died as a military pickup lost control and fell from the second floor while on security duty inside the third terminal of Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, police say.

Four others were injured in the accident, according to police.

The accident occurred around 10:15 pm on Monday, according to a report issued by the airport authority, bdnews4.com reports.

The report said injured and dead were taken to the Combined Military Hospital.

The dead have been identified as Warrant Officer Mahmud, Corporal Moniruzzaman, and Lance Corporal Zubaidul.

Among the injured, Corporal Mahbub and LAC Ahad sustained serious injuries, while Senior Officer Abul Khayer suffered minor injuries, the report added.

Lt Col Sami-Ud-Doula Chowdhury, director of the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), said all three people killed in the crash were members of the Bangladesh Air Force.

“Three Air Force personnel were killed in the accident. Several others were injured,” he said, adding that their detailed identities would be released on Tuesday.
