North South University (NSU) distributed winter clothes among its office support staff, security personnel and cleaners at a programme held on 20 January 2026 in Dhaka.

The initiative, sponsored by Southeast Bank PLC, distributed 1,000 blankets to provide winter relief, says a press release.

Founder life member and former chairman of the Board of Trustees of NSU and chairman of Southeast Bank PLC, M. A. Kashem, attended the programme as chief guest. Vice-chancellor of NSU Abdul Hannan Chowdhury was present as special guest.

Speaking at the event, M. A. Kashem said the initiative reflected a shared responsibility towards society and encouraged collective support for those in need.

Abdul Hannan Chowdhury said NSU seeks to serve society beyond academic activities and described the winter clothes distribution as a meaningful step to support vulnerable communities.

Through the programme, NSU reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian service and to promoting compassion and social responsibility across the university community.
